This cookie policy (“Cookie Policy“) describes how Klimato AB, registration number: 559139-1759 (“Klimato“, us“, we or our“) uses cookies and similar technologies on Klimato’s websites, including without limitation “https://klimato.com/” and any related URLs, mobile or localized versions and related domains/sub-domains, henceforth referred to as Service. Klimato uses cookies in the Service to be able to provide necessary functions and improve the user experience of the Service.

1. About cookies and similar technologies

1.1 Cookies

A cookie is a small file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that a website requests to save on the visitor’s device such as a computer or mobile phone. Cookies may be used to follow the user’s browsing on the website and to store user preferences and other information to enhance your experience in the Service.

Klimato may also use other similar technologies such as local and session storage. In this Cookie Policy we refer to “cookies” to include any such technology as described herein.

1.2 Persistent cookies and session cookies

Klimato may place persistent and session cookies on your device. A persistent cookie is stored for a certain period of time and will remain valid until its expiry date, unless deleted by the user before the expiry date. A session cookie has no expiration date and will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.

1.3 First and third-party cookies

First-party cookies are set by Klimato or by a third party at our request when you use the Service. Klimato is the data controller when processing personal data collected through first-party cookies. Third-party cookies are set by another company than Klimato that may also collect information via the Service through cookies, third-party plug-ins and widgets which are known as “third-party cookies”. These third parties collect data directly from your web browser or device, and the processing of this data is subject to their own privacy policies. Please note that we are not responsible for third-party cookies.

3. Legal basis for processing of personal data

Klimato processes personal information collected through the use of strictly necessary cookies based on Klimato’s legitimate interest to maintain basic functions of the Service. For all other cookies which are not strictly necessary, inter alia, functional cookies, performance cookies, social media and advertising cookies, you are asked to consent to the use of cookies. The legal basis for the processing of personal data collected through cookies which are not necessary are based on your consent. You can always revoke a given consent or change your selection afterwards as described under Section 6.2 and 7.

4. Categories of recipients

Klimato may engage external service providers, who act as data processors of Klimato, to provide certain services to Klimato, such as website service providers or IT service providers. A data processor is a company that processes the information on our behalf and according to our instructions. 

5. International transfer of personal data

Klimato may transfer personal data to recipients which are located in a third country outside of the EU/EEA. If a transfer to a third country takes place, Klimato will ensure that appropriate safeguards have been taken to ensure that transfers out of the EU/EEA are adequately protected as required by applicable data protection law and to provide you with relevant information. Such appropriate safeguards may be that the data exporter and data importer have entered into the European Commission’s Standard Contractual clauses and implemented supplementary measures. You can ask for a copy of the such appropriate safeguards by contacting us as set out below in Section 9.

6. Rights in connection to processing of personal data

6.1 Your rights

Cookies do not typically contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal data that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies. You have a number of rights in connection with the processing of your personal data, subject to certain conditions set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679) and applicable local data protection laws, including the right to:

  1. Request access to your personal data (“data subject access request”). This includes being informed as to whether personal data is being processed or not, and if yes, access to the personal data and certain information of the processing.
  2. Request rectification of the personal data that we process about you. This enables you to have incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected.
  3. Request deletion of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no overriding reason for us to retain it.
  4. Right to object – you have the right to object to the processing of certain personal data where we are relying on a legitimate interest or when personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes, including profiling related to direct marketing.
  5. Request restriction of processing of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal data about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
  6. Request data portability – you have the right to request access to personal data that you have provided about yourself if the personal data is being processed automatically and if the processing is based on the legal basis consent or a contract. You may also request that the personal data is transmitted to another controller if this is technically feasible.

6.2 Withdraw consent

If you have given your consent for processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based before its withdrawal, you can do so by change of preferences. You can change your preferences at any time in relation to cookies that we use for e.g. tailored advertising or analytics purposes or other cookies that we place only if you have consented to them as required by law.

 

6.3 Contact and complaints

  1. If you have any questions, concerns or a complaint about how Klimato processes your personal data or want to exercise your rights please contact us as stated below in Section 9.
  2. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority in particular in the EU Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or of an alleged breach of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679). In Sweden the supervisory authority is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (www.imy.se).

7. Managing cookies

You can delete certain cookies using your web browser and/or device settings. In most web browsers, you can also change your browser settings to stop certain cookies from being placed on your computer or device. Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies and to delete cookies. The methods for doing so vary from browser to browser, and from version to version. However, if you do not accept certain cookies you may not be able to access all features or parts of the Service. Blocking all cookies will have a negative impact upon the usability of the Service. Klimato reserves the right to change this Cookie Policy at any time. We will give you reasonable notice of any significant changes to the Cookie Policy, where appropriate. If so, we will notify you by a message or by email. You will also find the date of the latest change to the Cookie Policy on this website.
