What is Klimato?
We’re a startup on the mission to transition the food industry into becoming more sustainable. We work with restaurants and other food service providers to help them reduce the climate impact of the food they serve by calculating and communicating the carbon footprint of each dish to encourage more planet-friendly food choices, and tracking progress through climate goal setting and reporting.
Wait, what’s the relationship between food and the climate?
The food industry accounts for a large chunk of today’s greenhouse gas emissions, consequently contributing to climate change. We all know that climate change is probably the biggest challenge of our time, and by changing our eating habits to be more sustainable we can reduce the impact of climate change on our planet. How do I know that the climate data is accurate?
We are only working with certified climate data and our methods and processes for developing our climate footprint databases are vetted by the Swedish Environmental Institute, IVL. You can read more about where we get our data from and how we ensure it is as up to date and accurate as can be.
